THE SHIPMENT HAS ARRIVED.

Rep Argentina arrived in Banjul on weds 12 September. All 36 boxes that are destined for Tujering Upper Basic School arrived safely. Lamin had obtained the necessary stamp from the Ministry of Education to have the customs charges wavered but we still had to pay £80 import duty. That notched the total fees for the shipping of all 36 boxes up to £290.
On Monday 17 September Lamin was able to remove the shipment from the port although that was easier said than done - it took him 4 trips in the taxi.
Due to the fact that it is the month of Ramadan life in The Gambia is running at a much slower pace. All of the boxes have been taken to Lamins home where they will stay until I arrive at the beginning of November. I will then photograph the items being received at the school in Tujering.
