SHIPMENT TO THE GAMBIA

On 27 August 2007 a ship, the REP ARGENTINA, will leave Tilbury with a shipment bound for The Gambia. This shipment consists of 36 boxes full of school uniform and obsolete library books from Ringmer Community College, nearly 700 GCSE and A level science books donated by Imberhorn School in East Grinstead and an A level College in Horsham and also other educational materials donated by various individuals. All of these items will be going to Tujering Upper Basic School.
We transported the boxes from home to Crawley on 13 August where they were palletised and are now in storage awaiting the container which will transport them to Tilbury then on to Banjul. The total cost of this shipment was £195.70. It measured a little under 2 cubic metres and weighed in at 671kgs.
The ship should arrive in Banjul on 10 September 2007. Lamin O. Bojang will be picking it up from the port and taking it all to the school.

The shipping agent that we used is called Redcoat Express based in Crawley and can be found at http://www.redcoat.org.uk/. They have been very helpful and gave us a discount as we are a registered charity.

Thank you to all of you who have donated towards this shipment. Also a Big Thanks to the Sussex over 50's cricket club for raising the funds ( £127 so far ) to enable us to send all of this to The Gambia.
